Return to Practice

I have returned to my massage therapy practice at the Halifax Professional Centre after three months away. My summer schedule booked up quickly, especially since I am returning part time and gradually increasing appointment availability. So for that reason, for the the time being I am not accepting new clients, only returning clients.

COVID-19 Protocol

COVID 19 PROTOCOL

The following are some of the precautions I am taking to ensure our collective good health & safety. Some are the usual protocol and some are new:
  • The massage room has been thoroughly cleaned and high touch areas will be sanitized before and after every client, using Health Canada-approved disinfectants with a 'virucidal claim'.
  • "High touch areas" include: the massage table and face cradle, face cradle pillow, pillows, bolsters, chairs, floor, door handles, desk surface, counter tops, faucet, sink, massage gel & oil bottles, light switches, heating pad switch and cable, laptop keyboard, cell phone, wireless speaker, clipboard, pens, pencils and curtain drawstrings.
  • All linens - sheets, pillow cases, face cradle covers, towels and the blanket - will be changed after every treatment.
  • My clothing will be clean, not worn anywhere else but at the office.
  • I am only treating two clients per day and leaving one hour in between appointments, in order to allow time for the required cleaning.
  • My hands will be washed before and after every treatment.
  • I will wear a 3-ply, medical procedure mask while I treat you.
  • I will be filling out a checklist every day based on health guidelines mandated by the Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia and in conjunction with the Department of Health, to keep myself accountable for the safety of our surroundings.
MASKS
  • My plan is to greet my clients from a social distance without a mask on when you first come in, to give us an opportunity to chat face to face. Then, while you are getting on the massage table, I will put a mask on and wear it for the duration of the treatment, as is mandated by the Department of Health and MTANS. If you would like me to wear the mask from the moment you walk in until you leave, please let me know and I will be happy to accommodate.
  • The choice of whether you want to wear a mask or not is yours - on or off the table, cloth or medical.
WAITING AREA
  • No more waiting area: the seats by the elevators have been removed and the building corridors can no longer be used as a waiting area. So at your appointment time, just knock on the treatment room door and come in. Hopefully it will be a sunny day and you can wait outside until the time of your appointment.
I look forward to seeing each of you again soon!
